Concierge Home Watch: Getting Your Home Ready Before You Fly Back

Sekina Probasco Seasonal Prep

Your flight lands at 4pm. You open the door to a hot house. The fridge is empty. The air smells like the place has been shut since spring.

You have been north since April. Now you are back in Lakewood Ranch for the winter, and all you want to do is sit down. You do not want to spend your first night at the store.

Here is what concierge home watch can do before you get home.

Concierge Requests: the home is ready when you get there

Concierge Requests cover the small jobs at home before you arrive. Tell Sekina what you need.

  • Grocery stocking. Send a list, and the food can be in the kitchen when you walk in.
  • Plant watering. Your plants get water while the house sits empty.
  • Getting the home ready. Sekina gets the house ready before you arrive, so the first night feels like home.

Vendor Key-In: no waiting all day for the AC tech

Say the AC tech needs to get in before you come back. You cannot wait at the house from up north.

For Vendor Key-In, we meet your vendor at the home. We stay while they work if you ask. You get before and after photos of the job.

You choose the vendor. We let them in. We do not hire anyone for you.

What happens with the water on a visit

The water main stays off while the house is empty. At the start of each Home Watch Visit, Sekina turns it on slowly. She runs water through the sinks, tubs and showers to keep the drain traps wet. She works one water zone at a time. She never leaves that zone while water is running. Before she leaves, she turns the main off and takes a photo.

Visits are weekly or every two weeks. You get a photo report after every visit.

Humidity and the thermostat

The Home Watch Academy puts it this way: "Humidity in excess of 50% for an extended time can produce conditions conducive to mold growth." The target is humidity at or under 50%. The thermostat is set to 76 to 78, on COOL and AUTO.

Sekina carries a hygrometer on every visit. It reads the air temperature and the humidity.

The same person, every time

Sekina Probasco runs Gulf Coast Home Watch, and she does every visit herself. You never get a rotating crew. She learns what your house looks like when it is right.

She is a Graduate of the Home Watch Academy. The business is insured and bonded.
