"How much does Home Watch cost?" is the first question most people ask us. The honest answer is that it depends on your home. A two-bedroom villa and a five-bathroom house with a pool need different visits. So instead of one price, we build your plan from three things, and we go through them with you on a short call.
1. How many water zones your home has
We work through every home one water zone at a time. A water zone is a part of the house with its own water source: the kitchen, each bathroom, the laundry, an outdoor kitchen. On each visit we turn the water on slowly at the main, run every sink, tub and shower in that zone, and never leave a zone while water is running.
A standard visit covers the kitchen, one laundry and two bathrooms. Each extra bathroom adds a zone. More zones means a longer visit, so it is the biggest part of the price.
2. How often we visit
You choose weekly, every two weeks, or every three weeks. We do not offer once-a-month visits. In a closed-up Florida home, a month is long enough for a small leak or a humidity problem to turn into a big one, so a monthly visit only looks like care.
Visits are paid in advance in packs of 6, 12 or 24.
3. The extras you choose
Some clients only want Home Watch visits. Others add:
- Vendor key-in: we meet your plumber, pest company or cleaner at the house, stay while they work if you want, and send you photos.
- Concierge requests: packages, groceries before you arrive, watering plants.
- Car drive service: we take your parked car for a drive so the battery stays healthy.
- Storm visits: a visit before a storm to bring in outdoor items and close the shutters your home already has, and a visit after it passes with a report.
You only pay for the extras you ask for.
Questions to ask any Home Watch company about price
- What exactly happens on each visit, and how long does it take?
- Do I get a photo report after every visit, or only when something is wrong?
- Will the same person visit my home every time?
- Are you insured and bonded?
- What training do you have? (Gulf Coast Home Watch is a Graduate of the Home Watch Academy.)
- What happens if you find a problem?
A low price that skips rooms or sends no report is not a bargain. You are paying for someone to catch small problems early.
